XỬ LÝ HẠT GIỐNG – GIẢI PHÁP BẢO VỆ CÂY TRỒNG

Hiện nay trên thị trường có rất nhiều loại thuốc xử lý hạt giống lúa với nhiều thương hiệu khác nhau của các công ty thuốc BVTV. Nông dân bắt đầu làm quen với lợi ích của việc xử lý hạt giống lúa trong bảo vệ cây lúa trước sự tấn công của rầy nâu, bọ trỉ, nhện gié cũng như bệnh lúa von.

Trước kia việc xử lý giống chỉ có mục đích duy nhất là giúp giữ giống không bị nấm bệnh hại tấn công. Các hạt giống được áo các loại thuốc trừ nấm như captan, thiram hay là carbendazim để trừ nấm bệnh trên bề mặt hạt giống. Sau đó hạt giống này được nhuộm phẩm màu đỏ để cảnh báo người tiêu dùng không được sử dụng làm thực phẩm. Thuốc trừ nấm bảo vệ hạt giống đang nảy mầm và mạ tránh khỏi bị sâu bệnh trong đất tấn công, giúp tăng tỷ lệ nảy mầm, mọc đều ngay cả trong điều kiện bất lợi như thiếu hoặc thừa nước. Lợi ích của xử lý hạt giống trong thời gian qua là:

– Giúp hạt giống nảy mầm nhanh, bắt rễ sớm

– Giúp hình thành nốt sần ở cây họ đậu

– Tiệt kiệm lượng thuốc và công lao động trên cùng đơn vị diện tích so với phân bón gốc và phân bón lá.

– Dễ áp dụng hơn phân bón gốc và phân bón lá, chỉ trộn thuốc xử lý hạt với giống gieo sạ

Hiện nay việc xử lý hạt giống còn mở ra nhiều triển vọng mới như sau:

1. Tăng cường tính kháng bệnh (kích kháng)

Kích thích tính kháng bệnh ở cây trồng (kích kháng) là phương pháp giúp cho giống cây bị nhiễm bệnh trở nên có khả năng kháng bệnh ở mức độ nào đó sau khi được xử lý chất kích kháng. Kích kháng không tác động trực tiếp lên mầm bệnh mà nó kích thích quá trình tự vệ của cây trồng. Chất kích kháng có thể có nguồn gốc hóa học hoặc vi sinh vật.

1.1 Nguồn gốc hóa học:

Phổ biến nhất là các chất a-xit benzoic, clorua đồng, chitosan, a-xit oxalic, natri tetraborat, potassium phosphate (KHPO3) kích kháng đối với bệnh cháy lá lúa do nấm Piricularia oryzea. Trong đó clorua đồng sử dụng trong sản phẩm Biosar của trường Đại học Cần Thơ kích thích cây lúa sản xuất chất H2O2 ức chế hình thành đỉa bám của nấm gây bệnh.

Ngoài ra trên bệnh thán thư do nấm Colletotrichum gloesperoides cũng tìm được một số chất kích kháng là a-xit salicylic (aspirin), BION ( benzo(1,2,3) thiadiazole-7-carbothioic acid- S-methyl ester: CGA), Potassium phosphate và clorur đồng. Potassium phosphate cũng là chất kích kháng đối với bệnh do nấm Phytophthora. Neerja Sood, Sohal B. S. và LORE J. S. (2013) thấy chất Benzothiadiazole and Salicylic Acid kích kháng đối với bệnh đốm vằn.

1.2 Nguồn gốc vi sinh vật

Tiến sĩ Harsh P. Bais và các cộng sự của trường Đại học Delaware đã khám phá một loài vi sinh vật sống chung quanh đất lúa – vi khuẩn Pseudomonas chlororaphis dòng EA105 ngăn chận phát triển nấm bệnh cháy lá. Trong ống nghiệm nuôi cấy Pseudomonas dòng EA105, cho thấy nó thể hiện tính kháng sinh qua tác dụng làm giảm sự hình thành giác bám của nấm bệnh 90%, cũng như ức chế trực tiếp sự phát triển của nấm 76%. Trong thí nghiệm ngoài đồng, EA105 giảm tỷ lệ và chỉ số bệnh cháy lá lần lượt là 33% và 46%. Dòng nấm EA105 và EA106 tạo ra axit jasmonic (JA) và ethylene (ET) là 2 chất kích kháng đối với bệnh cháy lá. Hai chất này được chuyển từ rễ lên lá để tạo ra kích kháng ở lá lúa.

Vi khuẩn Pseudomonas fluorescens và P. putida dòng V14i (cũng dùng để khống chế bệnh đốm vằn trên lúa do nấm Rhizoctonia solani) khống chế vi khuẩn Xanthomonas oryzae. Tại Trung Quốc đã phân lập được vi khuẩn Lysobacter antibioticus dòng 13-1 trên ruộng lúa cũng khống chế được bệnh cháy bìa lá hiệu quả.

1.3 Nước trích thực vật

Có nhiều nước trích thực vật tạo ra kích kháng khi xử lý hạt giống hoặc phun lên lá . Các kết quả nghiên cứu của trường Đại học Cần Thơ cho thấy nước trích cây cỏ mực, cỏ cứt heo kích kháng đối với bệnh cháy lá và cháy bìa lá.

Tại Ấn Độ có nước trích cây cang mai (Adathoda vasica) xử lý hạt giảm bệnh cháy bìa lá. Khi xử lý hạt, kích thích tạo ra các chất peroxidase, PAL, b-1, 3-glucanase, polyphenol oxidase ức chế hoạt động của vi khuẩn Xanthomonas oryzae. Tại Pakistan nước trích cây chiêu liêu (Terminalia chebula) cũng tạo kích kháng đối với bệnh cháy bìa lá

Do đó trên thị trường có nhiều sản phẩm xử lý hạt giống có nguồn gốc từ thực vật. Trong đó có Comcat ly trích từ hạt cây Lychnis viscaria có chứa các chất thuộc nhóm brassinosteroids có tác dụng tăng cường sức đề kháng của cây thuốc lá, dưa leo, cà chua và lúa đối với bệnh do virus lên 30% khi phun với nồng độ 0,5-10 mg/l. Nó còn có tác dụng tăng tính chống chịu đối với các điều kiện bất lợi (Udo Roth, Annette Friebe and Heide Schnabl. 2000). Brassinosteroid là một phytohormones đóng vai trò quan trọng trong sinh trưởng và phát triển của cây trồng, bao gồm quang cảm, trổ hoa và nảy mầm của hạt.

Tương tự, sản phẩm Lacasoto 4SP chứa chất ly trích từ cây hoa hòe (Sophora japonica) là cây sử dụng trong đông dược làm hạ huyết áp và tiểu đường. Cây hoa hòe có chứa hóa chất queretin và routin cũng là chất gây kích kháng.

2. Tăng cường chống chịu điều kiện bất lợi

Các vi khuẩn sống vùng rễ lúa cố định đạm như Azospirillum lipoferum, Azospirillum lipoferum; vi khuẩn Pseudomonas sp, Baccilus sp đều kích thích khả năng tổng hợp các chất điều hòa sinh trưởng thực vật như Auxin và Gibberelin giúp bộ rế cây trồng phát triển tốt hơn, gia tăng diện tích tiếp xúc của rễ với đất. Các vi khuẩn này vừa tăng cường cung cấp dinh dưỡng cho cây trồng, vừa tăng cường chống chịu điều kiện bất lợi.

Các chất ly trích thực vật như Lychnis viscaria, xoan Melia azedarach đều có tác dụng kích hoạt tăng cường cây trồng chống chịu điều kiện bất lợi khi gieo sạ như ngập úng. hạn hán…

3. Phòng trừ sâu bệnh

Đây là xu thế phổ biến hiện nay của phần lớn các sản phẩm xử lý hạt giống trên thị trường. Điển hình là thuốc xử lý hạt giống Cruiser có chứa chất Thiamethoxam là hoạt chất chuyên trên rầy nâu và bọ trỉ, chất Defenoconazole thuốc trừ nấm phổ rộng ức chế tổng hợp màng tế bào nấm, chất Fludioxonil là hoạt chất trừ nấm trên hạt không lưu dẫn, chủ yếu trên bệnh lúa von.

Ngoài ra còn có Gaucho chứa hoạt chất imidacloprid là thuốc trừ sâu ức chế thần kinh trừ bọ trỉ, rầy nâu. Sunato chứa hoạt chất Fipronil là thuốc trừ sâu thuộc nhóm phenylpyrazole bảo vệ lúa 7-14 ngày sau khi sạ, cùng với Isotianil là thuốc trừ sâu thuộc nhóm Cloronicotinyl chuyên trừ rầy nâu, bọ trỉ.

4. Định hướng phát triển thuốc xử lý giống trong thời gian tới

Trong thời gian tới, xử lý giống là giải pháp kỹ thuật trọn gói nhằm mục đích:

– Giúp hạt giống nảy mầm mạnh, ra rễ sớm bắt đất tốt, tăng cường sinh lực của hạt giống để giúp khắc phục các yếu tố bất lợi thời tiết lúc mới xuống giống như nước chụp hoặc thiếu nước, quá lạnh hoặc quá nóng.

– Giúp cây lúa chống chịu được biến động của thời tiết trong giai đoạn mạ như ngập úng, mặn, phèn, quá nóng hoặc quá lạnh.

– Bổ sung dinh dưỡng nhờ tăng cường hệ thống vi sinh vật cố định đạm, phân giải lân, phóng thích kali ở vùng rễ.

– Kéo dài thời gian bảo vệ cây lúa từ 7-15 ngày lên 30-40 ngày, hướng tới bảo vệ cây lúa đến lúc thu hoạch.

– Kỹ thuật áp dụng đơn giản. Thay vì để nông dân tự trộn, các công ty giống sẽ trộn sẵn bằng máy có lên chương trình pha trộn thuốc xử lý, nông dân chỉ mang giống ra sạ.
